As Head of the Universitys Legal Services Unit at the Nathan campus, you will provide practical legal advice and services to the executive, administrative and academic areas of the University. Reporting directly to the Pro Vice Chancellor (Administration), you will work with and mentor a close-knit team of legal officers and administrative staff. This is a role which offers a tantalising amount of variety both in the broad range of matters that will come across your desk and the type of work you will perform.

You will be involved in reviewing, drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements on behalf of the University, including research and funding agreements, consultancy contracts, confidentiality agreements, licences, assignments of intellectual property and clinical placement agreements.

In this hands-on role, you will also provide both written advice and presentations to your internal clients on legal risks and liabilities relating to insurance and indemnity issues, the commercialisation of intellectual property, contractual obligations, tax matters, corporate governance issues and freedom of information matters.

To be successful in this pivotal and senior role, you will possess strong drafting and negotiating skills and at least five years post admission experience in commercial law. If you are thinking of a new direction, this is the perfect time to start.
